1 in a year - then 2 in a day :(

In a whole year I have only lost one bird, my female owl. Then this morning I found my pied cordon hen dead and then a African silverbill male dead in the nest. I am so upset. I will never be able to replace my pied cordon hen, they are just about impossible to find in Melbourne. I shed some tears today, I hope i don't have to shed many more

Oh Mands, I'm so sorry to hear about your birds. I know, from all your posts, how much you love them. What do you think happened? I am so sad for you. Prayers and lots of love going your way.

Jen Thanks for your kind words.
I have no idea what has happened to them. They seemed to be in perfect condition. I am so upset about my pied cordon, she was by far a very special bird to us, she was the mate to the male in my avatar picture.
I just don't know what happened which makes it harder. Last night was our first cold night, around 4 degrees so maybe it was that, but the silverbill was inside so no idea about him.
fly away little birdies

Mands
Hugs and more hugs winging their way down to you.
Do you know what happened? Is there something going around, has anyone been sick at all? Any of the newbies acting funny?
Im so sorry for poor birdies and for you.

Jen Thank you so much Jen. They are so little yet so huge in your heart. I feel for her mate, she is going to be impossible to replace but I will do my very best.

Ai Mands, I am so sorry *hugs*
I'm convinced it's the change of weather that gets them. My aviaries are already being closed up in the evenings due to the drop in temp. I lost a 5 month old gouldian hen last week after our first cold night and it's not even that cold by us!
I'm hoping and praying that you don't loose any more birds!!
