Update on my Parrot Finches, by request LOL

Hey everyone. Many of you may know, I recently acquired four Parrot Finches. Two are the parents of the hen, who has an unrelated mate. Seperate cages, separate rooms. Mom and Dad are doing great! Nest is beautiful and they have 4 eggs and are sitting tight! YAY

The kids, who are not babies mind you, the hen who is a heavy pied Sea Green, are tossing and burying eggs. The only difference between the nest are the materials. The kids started with Sissle (nasty stuff, I hate it

)
Parents only have used Coco Fiber. So, I pulled the nest and put it back today with coco fiber and we shall see. I really really want some babies from the heavy pied hen!!
There ya go
delray sorry, I am not good at uploading and Survivor is starting, so I gave up

Nerien Hey Ruthie... You know it! You are first in line for sure! I would love to know my babies were in perfect hands! Apparently my child hen is really unique.. all over the world, people are commenting one how terrific she is. BUT she is a brat, and has rarely successfully raised a clutch.. Her new name is Princess She makes me love her and be sick at the same time LOL!
@delray you got it, maybe when I finally use that ticket I can bring you some... God willing...
Thanks and I am so happy you are an addict with us

The photo of the heavy pied is not great but she looks nearly all yellow with the red face as the whole body can't be seen from photo. Is there much green on the hen as she looks nearly like a lutino from what can be seen in photo.
These are my heavy pied cocks

Above photo is when i first got him about 2 weeks ago, his plummage is now alot tighter and healthier looking

Above is the proud father of 2 bengie reared and 5 parent reared chicks.
I love the heavy pieds and can't wait to see how my youngsters colour up
If the're constantly laying/burying eggs then i'd suggest give them more privacy, use a half open nest box instead of the nest pan and don't do any nest checks, also if your giving them live food it could be putting them in breeding overmode, if i were you i'd change the nest box and reduce the amount of livefood given, with a more secure nest box facing outwards and no inspections they should settle down to incubate. Once it's obvious that 1 bird is constantly in the nest box note the date and start increasing the livefood again about 12 or 13 days later when the chicks are about ready to hatch.
I had a similar problem with my pair constantly laying eggs for same reasons, after moving nest box and reducing live food they reared/fledged 5 chicks a few weeks ago and are starting a new clutch.

Smurf ok thank you! I will change it if this last attempt is futile. I don't do any nest checks unless I am swapping out water and food. One hand in and one hand out within a minute.
I will post a better pic of her. thanks again

Smurf I don't think Lutino is correct. At least not from what I have heard from several experts here but also on many other sights.
I was told Heavy Pied SGPF.. Father is split.

I need more room, first! Trying to get going on renovating the house to make it more suitable and accessible for me, ran into such stonewalling at Town Hall that I was in tears Monday figuring there was no way we could get this done, but then Tuesday I called the state Advocate for the Disabled to get some power behind me, and today it seems that a house we looked at last summer, that got pulled from the market, is going into foreclosure again, so we may have a shot at that again, and it's triple the size of this house, so I'd have rooms and rooms for birds! (don't tell my family I just said that...), all this waiting and hoping and crashing and hoping--it's almost as bad as watching and waiting to see if your little eggs hatch---

Gorgeous birdies!
I especially like the one to the right in the first image!
@Smurf gave some great advice on upping the privacy.
I have a perpetual nest builder myself. There's one male who will rob material from other nests if there's no new material on-hand!
When he had an open nest at the very tippity top of the cage, he started putting nesting into the cage bars to create walls and a bit of a ceiling. So that told me he wanted more privacy, so we switched to an enclosed nest.
That particular male is part of a couple that's had some epic failures with chick rearing, so I just let them build as they like, even if they bury the eggs. I have no intention of letting them hatch all so they can kill more babies.
But when we
were trying to breed, I got in the habit of regular checks to ensure the eggs were on top. I'd occasionally pull out a bit of nesting material when it got too high. Once the female started sitting, the male basically built around her, so it wasn't too much of a problem.

Nanajennie , that's a beautiful bird and very unusualy coloured, looks like it has the orange face mask of the seagreen but with a yellow body, seagreen pieds are normaly a mix of white and seagreen with an orange mask and no yellow.
Lutino i found doing web search
