New Beauties

These are my first finches, and my third "set" of pet birds overall.
Image Image
[Marsh]Mallow to the left, Caramel, and Fudge; Mallow is about halfway trained to sit in my hand, while the other two are still pretty nervous about it. All three of them are female
They're my pride and joy, and what actually got me into birds overall, and eventually into apprenticing to be a breeder! Their nails are clipped once a month if needed, and we haven't had any accidents yet; I'm not quite sure exactly how old they are, I got them from a local pet store and they hadn't a clue, but I'm assuming they're babies since they had just gotten the shipment in! Caramel seems to still have her baby feathers on her head (they all go downwards and leave a small patch on the top of her head), and shed her tail feathers recently, growing in a beautiful new tail; the other two seem to be older, since they have (most of) their adult feathers and they both seem a little bit bigger in a sense.
if you have any tips or advice, feel free to leave me with it! <3 It would be very much appreciated.

Congrats on your new finches. The pics are blurry, but it looks like you have two Society's and the one on the left, Marsh Mallow is a zebra. Be careful with 3 in the cage, since the zebras are known to be aggressive toward other finches, even other zebras. If you have a large cage, they might be OK, just have several perches, water and food dishes in more than one place, so they don't have to compete. I would recommend a cage that is at least 30 inches wide. Good Luck and Welcome to the forum!

Welcome to the forum! There's lots of good reading at the Finch Information Center, linked at left, and the members are always ready to help. As Deborah has said, keep an eye on them, as trios sometimes don't work. Two of them will pair up, leaving the odd man out. In this case though, the two Societies may team up, and with the odd one being a Zebra, it probably will be able to take care of itself.

They actually get along really well! they all cuddle on their perches, and sleep in their nest huddled together, take baths together, and everything <3 They're all female so no one should be left out, since with a male/female pair they'd probably be together constantly to make lil babies
My cage as of currently is 25 inches wide, but I'm getting one that is 35 this week to suit the three better; I'm not planning on getting any more, as they get along super well together and I wouldn't want to disturb that.
Thank you guys!
