Hullo, I am on the hunt for answers again.......... yes the pest is back

When I am blessed with a few chirping young ones, I would like to know this, if they are now in the nest and being fed by the adults, at night would it be a good idea to leave a light on dim near that cage so the nest is not totally dark at night, or must I just leave it all, switch of all the lights and go to sleep?

Sorry if this is a dumb question?.................

ive done both before.. lights and no lights.. saw no difference between one and the other.. even now im my new aviary i set up a 5 metre LED strip .. but its more for the ambience rather than its functionality as the aviary is in my yard opposite the kitchen windows

I don't leave any lights on and haven't had any problems.

I don't leave lights on and never had a problem. I only left it on at night once when I had a very sick bird and wanted extra heat. P.S. You're never a pest!

CHIRP -- Last time, I left the lights off (save for their chili pepper lights, which is their nightlight). I would pop in mid-night to give some fresh egg food and I'd leave it on for 15-20 min while they ate and fed baby.
Then, turned it back off til morning.
(I'd had issues with the parents not feeding, so I was overly cautious.)

This time, I have a sick bird in a sick cage beside my main cage and she has a heat lamp on 24/7, so it lights up the room a fair amount.

I've noticed they're much more active and they feed the babies more frequently at night.
These babies grew and developed much faster than Squeepers (same parents.) I don't know if it's just genetics or whether the extra night feedings had an impact.
But it definitely made them feed more.
Though on the flip side, it bothers me that they don't seem to be getting a good night's sleep. But there's nothing I can do. I can't turn off the heat lamp, so.
