Isa my new cfw female just passed. I had just gotten home from the emergency vet with her. She was all fluffy and had the runs. I think the stress of the vets had caused her to start to crash. i had just given her, her first dose of Baytril so she could have aspirated but I think she was already crashing before then.

Aw I'm so sorry to hear! I know you care a lot about your little guys, at least she had an owner who cared and tried. May she rest in birdie heaven.

Rest in Peace Isa! So sorry you lost her, but she had a loving home and you did the best you could to help her get well.

Thanks, I always wish I'd found them sooner. Even though I know that odds are they weren't showing signs that I could see sooner. Darn animals by the time you know their sick they are REALLY sick and with the fast metabolism of little birds....sigh....she was still eating and acting normal this afternoon....I really guess the stress was too much. She was sooo pretty and I had gotten her to keep my lone male company, now he's alone again

To his credit when I put her back into the cage with him and she was really down while I got the hospital cage ready he didn't try to attack her as birds will sometimes do to a sick flock mate. Will bury her in the garden with the others tomorrow.

Sorry for you and little birdie. How long have yoy had her? Is it possible she was sickly when you got her?

I got her in mid july but I haven't seen any signs of illness until now. No fluffing, no stool issues etc...so it's possible but I doubt it.

So sorry you lost her. It's so true that they can go so quickly. They hide illness so well, and then shock us by going downhill almost before we even know anything is wrong.
