ROWAN AND ORION...

Hello Friends.
If you will recall, I mentioned some time ago my two little Red Billed Fire Finch boys who came home with me...
I named them Rowan and Orion, and they are doing very well. They have since moved into my flight with my two little Orange Cheeks. Everyone (I'm happy to say) is getting along famously. I find the Wax Bills to be such sweet, easy going birds (compared to some others [Z_____ ] who shall remain nameless.

)
And here they are, my little sweethearts .

They look very pretty. Well since your love zebras, you should accept them with all their numerous faults and failings!

Just now tomorrow you change your name to lovewax.

How did you know I was talking about Zebras?

You must be a mind reader
I do love Zebras, they are the Terriers of the bird world. There is never a dull moment when they're around. Never a quiet moment either.
I don't think I'll take on the name 'Lovewax'. That just sounds all wrong.

. I was going to say maybe, 'Lovebirds' but no, they're crazy too. LOL.
That said, I am enjoying the little Waxbills. These little red guys are amazing, even if little Orion is dancing around with a little sprig of millet in his beak, then jumping on Rowans back trying to mate with him. Boy is he barking up the wrong tree. I guess I will have to go after those two females, sooner rather then later.

Hi Lovezebs,
don't worry about your two males jumping on eachother! It seems to be pretty normal for males kept together. My canary, who is male and 13, is still propositioning his mirror ball on a regular basis. They are funny!
Kind Regards

This is a little more than a proposition...
I wonder what Kevin would say to a real Canary girl?

Its funny you should say that. When I got Kevin, he had been used for breeding by the owner, and I got to see lots of little Kevin Jr's. I'm sure he is a great-great-great-great-great-great-great grandfather by nownow. He used to feed my other canary, Ringo (who was a boy), also and be quite, ahem, intimate. Gender doesn't seem to make much difference with birds! LOL

Hello Everyone.
Just a quick update on the boys. They are colouring up nicely and as sweet as can be
Don't tell them, but Mom is in negotiations with their breeder to possibly acquire two little girls for my two little boys. ..
He has to check and pair up his crew, then hopefully...

there will be dancing in the flights and wedding bells will ring.

Gah!! He he he. ^^This^^ is hilarious!
I've had boy-boy mates. (In fact may 'keets are a lovely boy-boy couple. Very much in love. They melt my heart!)
These guys are so lovely,
Lovezebs!
They've grown up to be so very handsome!
I've always been rather neutral to this species in terms of appearance, but these photos make me really want a pair! They seem lovelier than others I've seen!
Are they super skiddish and waxbill-ish? Or are they more brave and outgoing, as appears to be the case from the photos?
I love this too:
"They [Zebras] are the terriers of the dog world."
YES! Very apt description! They are quite terrier-like, those Zebs!
Ah, you guys slay me this morning. You're all just so....so.....so darn quotable today!

That's a good looking pair of boys you've got there. I think you now need a pair of hens to go with them, Elana

Hi Mia.
These two boys are absolutely sweet. Not at all flighty, compared to the OC's and the Red Ears, who are their flight mates. Maybe it's because I got them super young, and they had never been In a Pet Store.
I love them.
