A TRIP TO THE PET SHOP...

Greetings to All.
~ I Needed some spray millet today ( God forbid we run out of that, we would have a mutiny) and decided that a trip to the Pet Shop was due. Also feeling a little bit down after losing my tiny zebra baby, and that place tends to cheer me up somewhat.
~So I got my spray millet ($20.00 kg). A bag of red millet (another favorite). Some wiggly meal worm minis (yummmy). A couple of plastic feeder containers. A couple of Red Eared Wax bills.....

.... Hey, how did they get into my cart ?

Those sneaky little guys. I tell you, you can't walk into that store without birds jumping into your cart. Must have been those yummy meal worms. They saw them and couldn't resist hopping in for a ride home.....

~Yup! They curl those huge claws around the bars and it's game over. I didn't have a crowbar handy to pry them off, and people were starting to look at me funny, wrestling with a couple of birds.

Hi Deborah.
I barely managed to throw those Goldbreasts back. And those Red Cheeked Cordon's... they are tougher than they look... Sheesh !!! And we won't even touch on the white Canaries with the Beatles hairdo. They probably could have wrestled me to the ground and crawled into my pockets had I not high tailed it outa there.

Thanks Sam. They are in a small cage resting after their ordeal of highjacking my cart and all.

It was a struggle Deb...
They said: 'We're coming!' Those cute little blue faces oh so appealing.
I looked at my wallet that was looking alarmingly flat , and told them: 'You're staying!'
And those Goldbreasts..... clamouring: 'Let's go home, lets go home, let's go home.... look how tiny and pretty we are, we won't take a lot of room...'
Credit card???
Run, Elana!!! RUN!!!
Canaries.....?
No! Noooooooo!!!!!!

Sadie and friends.
~Well..... one of my little ones was singing in the store, I could see the tiny throat working away. The other one with more pale colours, sat as silent as stone. I thought to myself, male and female.... yay!
~ As of this morning, the pale one is singing and hopping up and down like a demented Gouldian. The other one says nothing.
~I'm not sure now, if the one with more colour is just shy or a female who was just clearing her throat in the store. But the pale one is definitely a male.
~With my luck, I've probably ended up with two males, one older and one young and not yet fully coloured.
~So now, I'll be hunting around for a female Shaft Tail for Hunter.
~Two red-billed Fire Finch girls for Rowan and Orion.
~And possibly two Red Eared Waxbill girls for these two unexpected newbies...
~I need to win the lottery to keep all these bird children happy. Then I could build my dream bird room too. I posted a picture of it once before and half the Forum wanted to come and live with me. Maybe will post it again to see how many people will invite themselves this time. LOL!!!
