ZEBZZZZZ playing games with daddy.... So called Journal 5th.

Well, my pair had 3 eggs about a week ago, then the next day it was 2, the 2nd day after I checked and 3, then the next day 2...... so today a week later today I am on 2 eggs..... so as it goes she sits a little and then him.... and so it goes then they both out and so it goes........ 2 and 3 and 3 and 2 and so.........

They are eating the eggs or a ghost is removing them.........

BUT its a now just after a week, so if I actually get two hatched chicks I will be truly amazed.....

Seems they are playing games with me........

Are they getting eggfood and other minerals/supplements? They often eat eggs if they need the calcium. Or, is something disturbing them nearby? They may need some more security if they are where there is a lot of activity. Hopefully, you'll get some chicks in a couple weeks.

Yes tons, loads of eggfood, shellfish etc, no shortage this side, my birds live like kings, no danger here and nobody who gives them problems, only me . Anyway, lets see what happens at due date...

Well you do mention at some point that you were "on 2 eggs" ... I don't think 'you' are supposed to sit on them. No wonder the birds are having problems .

On a serious note though. If this nonsense continues, I would take the nest out, give them a bit of a rest, then try again, no interuptions (and yea, I know it's hard not to peek) from anyone!

Well then, now that that's settled, I think your troubles are over, my friend. You should have babies in no time ( Well not you personally, that would be just a tad strange) but rather your birdies.

Start counting the days, my good man, 'cause there's babies on the way.

Well it seems as though my pair are sitting on only two eggs, the other I think they ate, or the ghosts removed them. They are on 2.I looked at my book now, it is now day 7 sitting on the 2 eggs, and according to my past hatching's, I should get my first new hatch ling on the 15th. So, we will see.........

My Gouldians, are due on the 15 or 16th... so we might end up having little squeeppy babies at the same time. Mine are sitting on six eggs, but not sure how many will hatch. Last batch, we got five out of six. Lets keep our fingers crossed and hope for the best.

Well, hopefully Wednesday the first will hatch, they are sitting on only 3 eggs, but my previous attempt I had 3 chicks, so............... well let me say my family will have the chicks or the two Zebras will have the chicks, before Elana goes all English on me again so, lets hope that the Zebzzzz get lucky

My pair normally have 7 eggs, this time they have 3, the first is due to hatch today, any specific reason why they only have 3 all of a sudden? I suspect they ate one egg.

Three weeks today they on eggs..... so took them out, checked them, all dead inside. So, next time, anyway, my last attempt they had 3 babies, so I know they can....... I am sad for them, but that's life, next time

My young Gouldian pair came through with a second clutch (5 out of 6 hatched) just like last clutch. Three hatched on Tuesday, one on Wednesday, and the last on Thursday. A bit concerned about the last baby to hatch (very tiny compared to his sibs.)

Well just a heads up............

Well, to all of you who followed this 5th journal saga and the missing eggs............. well.......

So, yesterday I took out the old nest, mmmmmmm, guess what the male kept covering the new laid eggs, so layers upon layers, he covered them, only the top 3 she sat on I found, TILL NOW........

And whacka boom....... I found in total 11 eggs that she laid, including these 3, these are all from her 5th attempt BECAUSE I cleaned out that breeding box before he started building.......

Amazing she had 11 eggs...........

So, 6th Journal here we come..........
