Messi and Uno/a (not sure if it's a boy or girl yet) have forged a wonderful friendship which has made weaning so much easier for me. Uno/a just follows Messi everywhere and learns everything from him. I suppose this dispells concerns that human raised finches will grow up lacking social skills or wont learn certain behaviors. Seems like instincts will quickly take over with these birds. Uno/a dove into a water filled plate in the sink and started bathing on his/her own initiative just 3 days after fledging lol
And I finally managed to take a good photo of this behavior I've described before. When I cuddle them in my hands and kiss their heads/backs, they fluff up into ridiculous looking fuzz balls and flutter their wings and tails. Silly birds.
