Has anyone ever experienced sg parrot finches changing colour, i only noticed this tonight with a 6 month old parrot finch going through his first adult moult, he appears to be changing colour, his mask is getting alot lighter and the sg is changing to par blue
The photos are not great as it's night time here. He's pictured beside a normal sg for comparison. And a juvenile going through first moult is also turning same colour, another 3 juveniles are moulting out normal sg's.

That's quite interesting.
I wonder what mutations the parents are. Did you breed these guys yourself? Maybe you'll come up with a new mutation all together. Wouldn't that be something?
Keep sending picts, I'm curious to know what colour he'll end up at once he's finished moulting.

His colour can't really be seen well in the photos but he has a definite blue tint to the sg, he's 1 i bred myself from a normal heavy pied split sg cock and sg hen. The sg beside him in photo is his older brother who's offspring is also starting to show same colour during juvenile moult.
