Sad day today, at 5-50 this morning I heard a THUD in the aviary, on the floor lay my baby female, was a day or two away from being separated from the parents and sadly she dies. I noticed she was never strong and upright on her legs, always bent over the place she landed on. She appeared weaker than the other chicks I had, anyway that's life......sad day today.

REST IN PEACE little one.

Thanks, I try my hardest to look after them, no cold winds, eat like kings, enjoy the sun within limits, and just a very careful and watchful "big daddy" I look after my birds well, so this is sad, she was also so tame, was really a lovely bird, and now....... anyway, such is life........

So sorry you lost her, it is especially hard to lose those babies when they are just about ready to be independent. It sounds like she may have had problems since hatching.

Thanks all, sad day and she was nearly ready to be separated, but I noticed she was not as strong as the previous chicks, she was the only one that hatched from the last batch of eggs so it is sad.....

So sorry about your baby.
Was she the smallest of the clutch? Sometimes these little guys never seem to get enough food, and just don't develope properly.
Poor baby.
