Disappearing Spray Millet

This morning when I went to do the morning routine with the birds I happened to notice that all that was left of the millet was the stem. Usually they leave the little bunch pieces that hold it. I looked all around and could not find it and well when I did I scared the birds with my laugh.

My male zebra had clipped off each little bunch and placed them all in the nest do Shy Pie is sitting in there munching away on her breakfast served in bed. I think her male is definitely a gentleman.

He is a gentleman I agree. Birds can be so unique and funny at times.

Breakfast in bed!

I have a few guys who try to wrangle the entire spray into their nests!

And during free-fly, they'll steal sprays from other cages and transport them back to their nest. (Which can get rather funny when the sprays are large and uneaten, as this tiny bird attempts to fly with something that's probably twice its body weight! LOL)

My zebras use to do that all the time and it was hilarious watching them try to fit it in their nest. I use to find millet spray sticking out nests.

My Zebras and Societies both exhibit that behavior. Or they just weave it through the cage bars near their nests, which is probably more annoying because it's such a pain to pull out...lol
