An Evening of Adventure (and stupidity :-) ) Hello All.

Hello All...
Well this evening, I managed to put the roof back on my new F030 flight . It took some major contorting on my part to get some of the screws into the right spots, but finally with the aid of some long nosed pliers, (my arms were just not long enough) it was done .
Placing some fresh paper in, I decorated with some new plants, put In perches, placed some seeds and water in, and we were ready for business.
Situating the new flight (F030) close to my Waxbills smaller flight, I had everything set up just right. Open the small flight door, grab bird with one hand, close small flight door with the other hand, open F030 small side door, deposit finch, close one door, open the other, and go for the next one.
Sounds easy, right?
WRONG !!!!
Anyone who's ever had to catch Waxbills, will know what I mean. Yikes, but those little bleep bleeps are hard to catch.
Finally I had a system going, and it was like working on an assembly line. Open door, grab bird, shut one door, open another, release, close, open, grab, and so on. Then I was done, pushed the hair out of my eyes, wiped the perspiration off my brow, heaved a sigh of relief, stepped off the stepping stool, and almost had a heart attack.
Waxbills were sailing around the kitchen, flitting into the living room, zooming back into the kitchen. I simply couldn't believe my eyes.
Hurdling over a dog, shoving chairs out of the way, I sprinted to the front door (which was wide open), grabbing my bird net in the passing. Slamming the door shut, I happened to notice..... NOTICE, that the side door on the other side of my beautiful F030, was wide open (from when I was screwing the roof onto the flight).
OH MY GOD!!!
The next little while, was sheer madness, as I raced around the house, waving my net in the air like a crazy woman. If the neighbors happened to glance in my windows.... I dont even want to think what must have gone through their minds.
Finally everybody was captured and contained, with the exception of one Orange cheek, and my Goldbreast female. Chasing the Goldbreast, she pulled the disappearance act on me, and was nowhere to be found. As I stalked around the living room looking for her, I happened to see my Orange cheek, sitting pretty in the Ficus tree, very calmly looking out the window at the Summer storm outside. I tried to net him, and he zoomed into the kitchen and disappeared.........
It took me over an hour and a half, to finally, find them, net them, and put them into their new home. By that time, I resembled a wild eyed lunatic (even more than usually), with expletives flying off my lips, that would have made a sailor blush.
I think they are happy in their new home....... I know I'm happy to have them where they belong.
Tomorrow, I have to catch my Strawberries......
