Little House in the Country

Post by Spreckles » Sat Feb 27, 2016 7:52 pm

We went to look at our new place today. We will rent until the end of the year when we may buy it, 4 acres of land, wild turkeys and I can have chickens.

Cut Blue's toenails today. Creamed him up. Never know what kind of shape that bird will be in.

Lots of work out there. It has potential sweat equity. In the meantime we are packing.

What a sweet little house. I love porches, and is that a porch swing I see ???

I'm sure you're going to love it . Turkeys, chickens.....
Are you going to have a protection turkey ?

I'm so happy for you! :D

I would scoop that up in a second! Dont even THINK of moving to the city, its getting awful everywhere. If you can buy the place outright, I certainly would scoop it up! Congratulations! =D>

Yes it's a porch swing. A lot of work to do there.....a LOT. BUT I am married to the handyman carpenter guy. It's a very pretty property backed up to a new subdivision. Surrounded by trees. What is a protection turkey? Like geese that guard? The turkeys are wild. There are deer there too.
Have no idea where to house the birds yet. My granddaughter is afraid a big hawk will pick up her cat.....silly sweetie. But we are downsizing and this house is much smaller than where we are now. I'm going to be getting rid of a lot! We will be getting out of debt ...... =D>

Is there a shovelling smilie?

A protection turkey, is like a protection dog. I have heard of some turkies, being very territorial and protective of home and owner. Pigs are great for that too apparently :D. However, if they're wild, then that won't work.

By the way, (don't tell your granddaughter ), but large hawks and Owls can grab small cats and carry them away for a snack (so keep an eye on kitty ).

Good luck with the packing and the moving, and the shoveling. I'll be doing the same thing in a couple of months' time (and I'm not looking forward to it).

Where are you going? Downsizing? We are getting excited. It's a ton of work but good work.... Getting rid of stuff is liberating.
