When you can ill afford a new aviary (lol!)

Hey all,
Not sure if this is then right place to post my story so going to give it a shot (and also because none of my friends are bird enthusiasts, I can't share my stories with them...). But attached is my cage setup - two aviaries joined together. I bought the tall one a while ago and the blue one I had forever. Shifted all my birds into the tall one and thought it was too dim for them - not enough sunshine or space, so joined together the aviaries. Haven't heard all the birds sing this loud in a while! What do you guys think of this? It's winter now so my birds take shelted in the tall aviary at night, avoiding the draught. There is no heating whatsoever and I try to keep everything as natural as possible. To my suprise, all my gouldians have survived in the cold!! (I'm in Melbourne, Asutralia btw and its bloodg freezing)
I have orange breasted finches, gouldians, green singers, canaries, gold finches, red faced parrot finch, cordon bleus, owl finches, st helenas, and I think that's it...

Great mixed aviary, fraudster . How cold does it get where you are? Do gouldians migrate north during the winter, or do they stay put throughout the year?

Fraudster Here is a link to a topic listing three ways to add photos to a post, hope that helps. How do you keep the birds from escaping when you open the door to add food, etc.? Are all your birds in these two aviaries? Seems like a lot of birds for the space, do they all get along?

Looks like you could cover them if it's too chilly. Smart set up.

jimenezl Thank you! In winter gets about 0 degrees Celsius in the morning, but more often it's 5 degrees Celsius in the morning - there's usually frost! And as far as I know, Gouldians inhabit the norther part of Australia, where it is generally hot, so that's why they don't have their second layer of feathers (or something alike)
@Sally Thanks! The birds never escape - they are quite 'tame' - they know when I'm bringing food in! And the ones who do escape (for example my St. Helena, 3 times...) fly back and away during the day so I just use the net to catch them. All get along well, except for the European goldfinch - aggressive birds they are!
@Spreckles Thank you!
