New to the flock part 2

Post by FallenIce » Fri Mar 10, 2017 8:23 pm

It's been about a week since I got my two societies, Elvis and Priscilla. I am happy to announce that they have gotten four new flight mates (after having been in quarantine for awhile first). And even better they are males and females. So now I have 3 and 3. Their names are Splash, Dash, Beatle, and Coco. I'm hoping to be seeing some courting, nesting, and babies soon.

2 canaries: Jewel & Boomer
4 parakeets: Birdie, Strips, Moondoggie,
& Gidget

1 shiba inu: Blazing Skies
1 calico tabby cat: Autumn

Wow, that was quick :D

They are beautiful! Congratulations on the new bird babies.

I have to say, Splash is a very handsome fellow.

Regarding courting, nesting, and babies...
Socies being Socies, you probably wont have a very long wait.

Are you planning on keeping these upcoming babies, or finding homes for them?

The reason I ask is because with Societies being Societies, they may lay eggs in different nests, with everyone sitting on everybody's eggs. With that being the case, you may end up not knowing which babies belong to which parents, which may cause interbreeding issues later on.

Anyway, have fun and enjoy your birdies.

Thank you. I love my new societies :D
As to keeping any babies I might keep one or two.
I'll most likely trade or sell them to another local breeder so we can have new bloodlines.
