How to identify a brown lesser seed flinch
Hi I bought a brown lesser seed flinch an I need some help identifying if it's a male or female can anyone help me plz

But the person I bought it from told me it's a young bird an it's brown it looks just like the female but how will I know for sure that it will turn out a male

That's true, the best way to be sure is by buying an already mature bird.
But if it is a male, within 3 - 5 months it would start practicing his singing, once only males sing.
It would help using a record to both, teach and encourage the bird to sing, if you don't have an already adult male available to play this role.

Ha, I tried to listen to the Sporophila angolensis singing, and my male Canary instantly chimed in and I couldn't separate the sounds. I'll listen in another room.
This seems a very interesting bird to me, and I've not seen any in the U.S.

Here in Brazil we can find them in the wild, they are very popular birds due to his magnificent song.

But I have one more thing I wanna know I find sometimes my bird swell up an sits an chip seeds whole day an he chips it into dust can anyone help me plz
