<3 Just a few shots of Midget & Buttercup sleeping together on two different occasions (as you can see from the flash the room is competely dark). This way I was able to catch them snoozing

. These two just warm my heart at how much they adore each other. :YMHUG:

They look so cute when they get really flat in the nest like that.

It still amazes me how two completely different species have bonded like mates.

In the nest I woke them up with the flash. They were sleeping hard.

Normally gouldians are perch sleepers, but Buttercup has taught him how to sleep in the nest sometimes

I've actually given Max and Kelsie a break from each other.

Kelsie so wants to be a mommy and keeps layng empties all over the place, so I decided to give her a chance.
I placed her in a cage with one of my new boys and gave them a nest. She can't fly very well (due to her half wing), but he seems quite patient, so we shall see.

In the meanwhile, Max has been introduced to a male friend, another handicapped and older male Zebra with a badly twisted foot and some issue with one of his wings as well.

Here's Kelsie, and there's her new boy friend...

And below is Max, and his little Penguin male friend....

That chocolate male society....I'm still in love with his colors! I cant wait to see what Kelsie's babies look like!

Max's new buddy has very unique colors. I hope they get along well. His poor foot :( It might make for a perfect match. They have similiar injuries.

So cute!

So far these two boys are watching each other from a distance, ready to puff up and drag themselves up to do cripple battle, lol.

"Come 'ere you and stand still so that I can smack you one, eh.... just get on my good side, damn you....you stupid Zebra...l said MY good side, not your good side..." For some reason makes me think of Monty Python flicks.

I hope they get used to each other, and I really hope Kelsie and her new beau get some chickies. I think they would turn out pretty.

It would be funny to watch, and sad at the same time

Your zebra male is a pied, very nice colors.

I can bet that you will get really nice looking self societies from this pair too.

I thought he was a Penguin...
I always get those two mixed up, darn it #-o

I hope the Socie pair will have some pretty babies, or any babies, lol.
She can't fly very well, (has only half a wing on one side), so hope that won't affect her mating capabilities, as she tends to fall off the perch like a rock (poor little girl).

Try to use some perches with grooves, like these, it may help with her balance during copulation:

I have never seen those perches anywhere (?)

I usually will use natural branches whenever possible, but with her I don't think it's so much her grip on whichever surface, as her balance because of the half wing.

I hope maybe they'll manage somehow...

Where there is a will, there is a way :-BD

Hum, here they are fairly common.

I used some of those when trying to breed a canary pair whose the male was a huge yellow color canary, and the female was unable to hold her ground under such weight, and kept on slippering during intercourse.

Their first clutch was infertile, on the second one (with the perches) we had 5 chicks out of five eggs.
