Problem?

Ok so I think I have a problem but I'm not sure. Awhile ago I lost one of my female zebra finches to egg binding and put that pairs 3 eggs in with a foster pair. The foster pair are societies who had two eggs of their own. It wasn't long ago when the first egg hatched. Since then three eggs have hatched, I just did a nest check, and there in lays the problem.
Evidently I miss judged the ages of the eggs. The first chick is almost the same size as the parents and starting to get feathers. The second chick is half the size of the first chick. And the third chick is a new born. All three are being fed, their crops are all full. But is there going to be a problem with the chicks being different sizes (ages)?

If there hasn't been so far, then chances are good going forward.

Just cross your fingers, keep your eye on things, and hope for the best.

Sojourner Thank you. And I'll be keeping an eye on the little family. They're my first foster family and I'm hoping all the chicks make it through.

Just three babies, probably not.
Societies are usually really good feeders and will provide for all the chicks. I've never had a runt get neglected.

That's a funny one, lol.

As long as everyone is being fed, then I don't see a problem.

So, are these infants Zebras or Socies?

The biggest of the three is a society but I think the smaller two are zebras. I checked on them again this morning and everyone is doing fine. It was rather cute the smaller two were snuggled up to the bigger one.
