no it couldn't be a cheeked because in that case the base color will be reduced to white or near to white , the belly is in buff coloring and tail bars are distorted.
Oh right. But if it has faint cheek patch doesn't that means it's a male?

I didn't think of Biscuit. wendyrun did. Biscuit is the all white female wendyrun has. She needed to re-home some of her female zebras so I agreed to adopt Biscuit. We just have to work out the delivery. And also Flight Feathers what mutation is she? I'd really like to know.

Oh right. But if it has faint cheek patch doesn't that means it's a male?
Indeed if it has a faint cheek patch even a complete visual cheek patch that doesn't mean it's a male we can check this With the Blackcheek, greycheek and fawn cheek mutation hen has a cheek.
To be confident i'm pretty sure that all zebra hens have a cheek patch, some are visual, some are only partially visual as a faint cheek, some are completly hidden like grey, cfw etc.
And a concret proof is penguin mutation we see cleary a white cheek patch.also with a good sight angle u xan distinguish a cheek patch shadow on lb hen

That is very interesting. I did know about the black cheek mutation but didn't know hens had cheek patches in other mutations.

Which finch are you meaning? If you post some clear close up pics I should be able to tell you what it is :)
