my first clutch of eggs from my sociatys produced three brown and white birds and one pure white. the people at pet smart said they had never seen a pure white one before. that was two months ago now I have a new one this time there were just two babies and 1 fell out of nest and died. the other one fledged yester day and it seams to be all white too. I'm not sure if it came from the same pair as ther are 4 or 5 birds using that nest this time.

Is this rare??

I don't know, but I have three society finches that share a nest. They are WONDERFUL foster parents. But the downfall is that there is one cock and two hens. So every once in a while they slip a baby in on me. And it is always hard to tell who it belongs to until it fledges. They always seem to look exactually like the hen. Perhaps someone else can help you out here.

There are 10 birds in that nest right now & there were 12 in it last night. Someone told me I had to many birds in that flight cage. I think these are collage kids or circus clowns what do you think?

White society finches aren't that rare. There seems to be so many different colors.....
I've seen a lot at the bird marts and they usually charge a little more for pure white.

Mine is not an albino, you can see his eyes are black. Spike the other bird in the pix is one of the parents. not sure about the other parent.
