Is this a foraging box

I’ve always had this and wondering if this is why I never get plucking problems and I’ve never that these are foraging boxes

Absolutely! Thats a great foraging opportunity for them. Im kind of jealous haha. Is this in an aviary? And sorry my name is Jai. and im somewhat new to the forum.

Well hi jai and yeh this is in my aviary I’ve had it for so long I bought it for wild birds to put bread in then I decided I Would put loads of nesting stuff in and all the birds went crazy tugging it and making beds

It is one kind of a foraging box for your birdies to enjoy.

I usually use a tupperware container about 9-12 inches long.

In it I'll put things like hay, twigs, stones, feathers, bits of spray millet, some seeds, some shredded paper, pine cones, tree bark, small balls of crumpled up paper, egg shells, some wild seed heads when available, mealworms, etc. All sorts of items that the kids might enjoy going through.

Foraging is is a natural activity for all birds, and birds in captivity enjoy it just as much as their wild brethern.
