Getting Java’s today WHAT FOOD

Hi today at 1 oclock I’m picking up two parent Java’s with there juveniles and I don’t know if they eat the regular small seeds like the zebras and society’s however I’ve bought some bigger seeds recently and mine can’t eat them, they are too big, will the Java’s eat then because they have bigger beaks

Also I may be picking up some society’s

Twenty minutes away and I just got informed that they are born in aviary aswell how could this day get better

Fraza Here is an article on the care of Java sparrows. I haven't kept this species before, but I've heard that a good parakeet mix will work for them, as they do prefer the larger seeds.

I fed my Javas normal finch mix. Indeed, I've always fed all of my birds finch mix, including hookbills.

My Javas eat canary seed , white proso millet, oats & groat (they devour) and buck wheat seed. They enjoy dried eggfood and boiled egg and shells too

If I offer them my regular finch seed they will throw everything out on the floor in search of the proso millet and canary seed and waste the rest.

Be sure to ask the breeder what he feeds them. Very excited for you!!

Okay where do I start they are amazing one of the chicks escaped in my kitchen and he flew back to his family in the cage and opened the door and went in LIKE WHAT how clever is that ! THey was singing and it was AMAZING

Also I got them for free because the guy said he was just so happy as in the 1960 he started out and was just like me so it’s made him happy

Also they are Albinifio ones or something like fawn in front and white/silver back

They are gorgeous!! I see a silver in there too! I knew you'd love them.

I forgot to warn you they are excellent fliers and escape artists. I nearly killed myself trying to catch Tux one day. Keep your eyes peeled on them when you open your aviary.

Babs okay I will do the 3 month old one crabbed my finger and pulled itself out of the cage and got into my kitchen then it flew back to cage and climbed back in to its dad

How are your beautiful Javas? Mine love plain canary seed for sure. You can get it at DrsFosterSmith.com 800-443-1160 or ladygouldian.com. They also get white proso millet and Goldenfeast Australian Blend. They will eat some of the parakeet mix. I give them steel cut oats and oat groats too. If you crush Harrison's power treats, they like that too. They love organic romaine lettuce and finely chopped organic kale. Also provided is Twin Beaks organic herbs. And of course they love to take a bath a few times a day. Are you going to post more pictures?

From what I see in the picture, the Javas won't eat that seed. It looks like wild bird seed with a lot of milo in it. They will only eat the proso maybe, but have to have the other seeds that they will eat to survive. And a some fresh water too.
