If at all possible Fraser, I'd get them indoors, especially with (as mentioned in another thread) a cold front blowing in the direction of North England. Not sure what that means in temperatures at your neck of the woods, but better safe then sorry in my books.

I have seen wild sparrows freeze solid over here, and wouldn't want to hear of that happening to your birds lovey. Even if you have to crowd them into small cages for the duration, at least they would be warm and safe.

lovezebs hi elena I’ve took out the firetail and at the moment my hybrid and my society’s are all sharing a bed so that’s 8 of them creating ther body heat, then my zeb pair in ther had a nest full of really warm nesting that I went out and bout persifitcly, then finally I brought in two zebs because the cold was striking them.

My Java’s and stars are perfectly fine tho not even a shiver however Bill did used to let them sleep outside part of the aviry so my inside must be warm to them

This morning our temperature is -24C (with a windchill factor of -38C).

lovezebs wow surprised u haven’t frozen to death did u have frostbite writing that msg haha

And yeh they are doing okay it was full of snow this morning but I’ve turned the heater up and kept doors closed and they are okay in the aviary

Waiting till this weather passes to put my zebs and new heck’s back in tho as I swapped them for the firetail
