Budgies are still lovely birds nevertheless - not all budgies are like that.

But definitely safer not to house straight beaks and hook bills together.

haroun that’s horrible that pet store needs to sort out that there isn’t enough room in a cage and yeh I wouldn’t put hock bills with mine because my aviary is way to small for that

But I can’t belive that one just ate another I thought it might attack but never thought of cannabilism

Fraza

Yikes!!!
Cannibal Budgies  .

My Stars took over an abandoned canary style nest with Owl eggs, hatched the eggs and raised the tiny Owlets as their own.

Stars seem to be very peaceful shy birds... sweet like the owls. I have new owl babies and another pair on eggs, enjoy watching them. Congratulations on your owl young Elana.

Budgies and parrotlets can be a bit cranky when breeding, some hens do not even tolerate nest checks. Had Green Rump parrotlets yrs ago, they charged you if you went into the cage to service the cage or check the nest...during that time I had to use seed cups through seed doors or risk a bloody bite.

I agree, Stars are sweet birds, but mine are not as shy as some other species.

You should see them when they see their bath coming, they're into the water almost before I put the container down  .

lovezebs wow that’s a crazy little story I didn’t even know they would foster I was told they are bad parents and I shid give there eggs to society’s and leave the infertile ones and then fake eggs with them

Wish I had a nice pair like yours who jump in a nest with eggs unlike mine who would rather sleep cold

Fraza

Here are some baby Owlette pictures for you Frazer.

This is actually a story from a few years back, so the babies are fully grown up now.
