Flight Feathers yeh I find it strange I do not know if it’s just me but certain finches they have this attachment where they actually have a personality and interact then some they just don’t take to humans and that why sometimes I get new ones then later move them onto new homes

Yeah it's quite true. My special finches I keep are the friendly less scared ones. I don't really like having flighty ones.

In saying that I have never been able to give a bird away yet lol. I've only sold baby finches.

Flight Feathers really no way I’ve give quite a few away but a lot of the time I get birds in big batches because a lot of them have ended up becoming my friends when I buy one they just give me a few of there spare ones aswell like lasttume I went back fir the Java’s and cane back with with stars loads of society’s and two doves haha

How many breeding cages do you have?

Flight Feathers I have 5 I have in the aviry 4 with a pair of stars, pair of zebs then a pair Ogbomosho society’s and another pair of 3 but these are all one gender and are just there for incase needing to adopt

Then coco breeds with two females out in the aviary wild notnin cage aswell as the Java’s

Then in the house I have my heck’s and other zebs

At the moment I’m just getting them all paired up ready for breeding only one who’s ready to breed if he wants is coco and the ones inside the others I’m gonna put a nest in cage in about 2-3 weeks

Oh okay, I just have a couple cages, two breeding cages and then two other cages but I'm getting a big budgie breeding cage soon and also another 1-2 spare cages which will be handy. Do you winter breed at all? This winter I plan to winter breed all through winter. (I'll have maybe 6 pairs of Zebs) At the moment I'm also looking for societies to breed. May take me a while to find some because they are really uncommon here. Hopefully I can find a pair tho.

Hi Frazer,

It seems that over the years there were always some birds in my life.

However after close to 20 years of Lovebirds, I pretty much swore off birds .
Then I found myself in a Garden Centre and they had a Canary happily singing away.

Shortly thereafter Luciano (Canary) came into my life, to be followed by Teddy and Timmy ( two tiny Zebra brothers). I haven't looked back since, lol.

Flight Feathers hi I’ve found that society’s are the best for winter breeding but others I would never allow again I tried to not let anyone breed but zebras being zebras did and society’s and my java pair but next year round I’m gonna only breed certain society keep it max to two pairs breeding at once

lovezebs I do have to say elena every one of your birds always looks stunning in photos sand the scenery always does aswell and I never knew you started it with love birds then canarys then zebras I thought it was quite the opposite
