Fraza

It's normal for the air cells to get larger as the egg ages. If the air cells were large when the eggs were laid, that could indicate a problem, but if the eggs are old with large air cells, it shouldn't be an issue, though the air cells are not an indicator of fertility.

Fraza It's good for older eggs to have more air, lol, maybe I should clarify that.

I have had a chick hatch from a half empty egg and be fine! Just really small, lol

It may be that the fluid part of the egg is drying too quickly during incubation. Sometimes when that happens the chick has a hard time hatching out, because the membranes are stiff.

If you make sure your hen has access to bath water all the time, she'll regulate this herself. When necessary, she'll go back to the nest with damp feathers.

Fraza Sometimes it just takes a few batches before they really get parenting down. I have a pair that's had and failed 6 clutches before getting any of the babies to not only hatch but survive.

Really she actually incubated and brought up her last clutch by herself then I had to give them to my society’s so she’s normally a good mum just something wrong this time maybe because heck’s was in the cage with them
