Finchie back with me now she can have a long rest from layin

Post by Fraza » Fri Feb 09, 2018 12:18 pm

So finchie has been in the aviary findings a way to reed and lay eggs with any Male she can get her hands on and it’s decreasing her health and as I’ve had her so long and like her a lot I decided to just keep her in the house in a cage as she will still get her flight as she has done free flight since 8 week old and still comes back to the cage I can also keep her hand tamed

Anyway here’s the pics and Ive gotbher with my new black cheek female I who I’m future pairing with my blac cheek Male I didn’t quarantine because I have no room

Fraza

I have never quarantined either. I just only buy healthy looking birds and if start suspect sickness I treat the birds with medicine but have never had to do this yet.

Oh okay, I have bought a majority of my birds from a local pet store but now I have discovered a breeder so have bought a few birds from her.

Flight Feathers yeh I prefer breeders because pet shops can buy them off anyone without knowing the conditions plus most breeders have an aviary so the birds are quite healthy

Yeah I prefer to buy from a breeder too. Our pet shop breeds a lot of birds themselves and they breed them in aviaries. Although I can't say all of their birds are in great condition. Have seen quite a few budgies that weren't in good condition.

I think they have to breed their own because birds are in such high demand and there aren't many breeders.

Wow that's pretty cool. Yeah over here I think lots of people just have birds but don't actually breed them or if they do breed them, they don't breed very many. I guess it's just because baby birds always seem to die.
