He doesn’t look like an ob... looks more light back (that is if he’s a fawn with a white tummy) An orange breast has an orange breast and an orange tear mark. Splits can have orange lacing or orange in the tail bars.

Pairing an ob and a B.B. most likely wouldn’t give you those colors. (Especially not a full black zeb!!) So ob and B.B. and bc are all recessive colors. This means BOTH parents must have/show or carry these genes in order for the babies to visually be that color. I will give you an example:

Ob is a recessive color mutation - mother - Carries ob, father is visual ob - the results : ob offspring.

Here is another example:

B.B. is a recessive color mutation - mother is a B.B. , father carries B.B - the results : B.B. offspring.

Here’s a cool combination :

Mother is B.B. and carries ob, father carries ob and B.B. - the results : ob B.B. babies!

That’s the meaning of recessive genes. As long as both parents have the same recessive color gene you will get babies those Colors! Hope this makes sense!

It’s the same with the pied gene. Your birds might not visually be pied but when you pair up two birds that carry it, what do you get? Well pied of course! :D Because it’s reccessive. It can be hidden OR you can get visual splits or the bird can visually be that color. :D

In the pic is the baby wet? Or is that it’s actual colors? Also is it a boy or a girl? Ob is where they have orange tail barring and B.B. would still have tail barring, it just goes the other way (I think) I’ve never heard of a zebra finch having a completely black tail! Sorry I’m stuck you’ll have to ask haroun

Flight Feathersnot as much as I thought he was around on basically an ancle part and then the foot points right up in the air but I think when it’s fell off it will be fine he can perch now on the bird feeder and small perches which am very surprised at his other leg must be strong

He also used his tail for balance he spreads it out alot
