Do you have a picture of its tail? Males typically have longer tail-prongs, but it isn't the most reliable sexing method. Beak color is one of the best ways to sex birds, but this one has no pigment in its beak due to the silver-back genetics, so that isn't helpful.

If your bird is genetically purple-breasted, I'd say this one is female, as it has a lighter-colored breast. However, if you are unsure what it's genetics are, it could be a lilac-breast male or female.

Voice might be the clearest sexing method at this point, though it is hard to explain. Obviously, if it sings, it's male. Males also tend to have a higher-pitched "shreee" call that sounds kind of hollow, while females tend to have a slightly lower-pitched and rougher "shreep." When it comes to agressive calls, the male has a call very similar to his normal one (at least mine did) that becomes a bit higher-pitched at the end. In contrast, females may hiss in a lower pitch. Sexing birds by sound is best done by comparison to birds of known sexes, as there is a fair amount of individual variation in voice.

wilkifam may be able to help you more.
