My first Society finch fledgling

There is the fledgling society finch within minutes of leaving the nest. Shortly after I took this the baby was up on a perch with Dad. Pardon the dropping I have not been scraping the bottom to try not to scare them out too soon.

they always look cute when they have just fledged ,all my javas fledged today also

congrats kenny on the javas fledging.
i put the little one back into the nest since it was the only 1 to leave. the baby has decided to stay there this time so maybe it was just a bit early. they are all peeking out, but since they all hatched over the course of a week they are not all the same age.

the baby came back out today and learned to fly, and then flew back into the nest. Also 2 others came part of the way out, but never flew just begged for food. they are all growing so fast.
it appears i have 2 chocolate and white pieds, 2 fawn and white pieds and 1 chestnut and white pied in the babies. i wish i had more batteries in my camera today since they are all being so active today.

i really love them at this stage when they have those little white corners to there beaks they look so cheeky!

I like the looks of javas but have heard/read they are pretty aggresive and shouldn't be kept with smaller species. What is your opinion on this Kenny?

i have always kept my javas with zebras and societies and a few other smaller birds and there has never been any trouble they do fight with each other but nothing serious because they are colony breeders and tend to stick together.here is a picture of my old aviary and you will see the zebras are nesting right next to some javas

I do too because the babies are so innocent and they do investigate everything. Plus they are so cute. All my fledglings once they learn to fly have to check out everything, and I always end up putting some small bird toys inthe cage so they can play, and they do and seem to enjoy it. But I don't add the toys until after they have learned to eat on thier own.
All but 1 of them has left the nest now, and are flying around. That one has a lot more interest in leaving today, but is still scared to do it. I think it is the youngest one, and that one looks just like the daddy.

Here are all 5 of them together.
I managed to pick up some cheap batteries for the camera and got 3 photos before they died again LOL.

Ahhh, cute little fluffballs all sittin' in a row.
