wow Absolutely beautiful birds. I love your set up. Is the box on the outside a feeding station? Do you use it to catch up birds?

Liz..... I "think" it is a red head parrot finch.

I have a pair but they are a darker green. I don't think they are sea green. They are funny and entertaining little busy birds.......

Beautiful birds! The sea green is a mutation or variation of the Red-headed Parrot finch. I have only seen one in person, and it was stunning. It had the sea green body, with a peach-colored head. I have a pair of the Red-headed Parrot finches, and they have the bright green body with a bright red head--look like Christmas birds. Me thinks I need some sea greens!

I really enjoy the parrot finches and now have a mutation in mind to keep an eye out for. That Sea Green is ABSOLUTELY beautiful. Lovely birds and thanks for the pics.

Thanks for all the comments folks.
The Sea Greens are beautiful birds and so active. Had a hard time getting one to pose for a pic.
Donna, the box on the outside is a feed station. It has a sliding perspex door, seed hopper that has enough seed tp last a month, stainless coup cups for all their grits, live food etc. The base has a wire insert that all the seed husks and vege scraps fall through into a drawer below that contains a colony of mealworms.

I saw a mutation of parrot finch today that I have never seen. We went to Emory hospital in Atlanta and they have an aviary there. (this is where it all began for me)
They have a huge mix of finches and canaries together. All male.
There was a parrot finch that was a light green color with white spots all over it. It was stunning. I want one soooo badly now. I wish I had taken my camera so I could have got a picture. Anyone ever seen one like this?

What is the cost of one of these sea green parrot finches? I have always liked parrot finches and that morph is SO striking. Are they very difficult to find?

Sounds like a pied Sea Green to me. One of mine are lightly pied but the heavy pied ones are spectacular. Here Sea Greens are around $100-150/pr and pieds are around $250/pr.
