Finches for Adoption

Post by Hilary » Sun Mar 11, 2007 11:31 pm

I can't help it - I periodically check Petfinder to see what finches are up for adoption (as if I actually have room for any more!). Saw a pair of gouldians (red head normals) available in Georgia and thought wow, somebody is going to snatch them up. Then I saw the adoption fee - $400!!!! Of course, they come with cage and accessories, but that had better be a pretty wonderful cage!

hi hilary
they are just taking advantage of people who like to keep finches with a selling price like that if you have already got a cage make them an offer for the birds on thier own

Oh, no, no, no...... I live in another state and already have about 40 goulds. I certainly don't need these two! I agree, though - it's through a rescue, but seems like they're taking advantage of somebody who may not be aware of the actual value of the birds. OR the cage coming with the birds is super-deluxe and is plated in gold.......

maybe it's a typo and it's supposed to be $40?
