Went to my very first show......amazing! NYFTCC

Yesterday, I went to New Yok Finch and Type Canary Club show here in New York City. It was my first time attending such shows and I want to go again next week Oct. 3 at the same location but different bird club this time. I enjoyed every seconds I was there and learned so much from experienced breeders. Bird prices are way low than what nearby petshops ask, about 60% less. I wanted to buy a pair of Gouldian fiches but decided to look around for 10 minutes, by the I was ready to buy every Gouldians were sold out because of the low prices. here are few photos I snapped while watching these gorgeous birds:

I always buy right away if I know I want something. Cause you can almost be sure it will be gone by the time you decide to buy it. That happened to me with a gorgeous pair of red wing pytillas just recently. They had exceptional color. Could not make up my mind. I decided to purchase them only 10 minutes later and they were gone. I thought about those birds constantly for a week.

ARRGHH!!!!!

I am so upset that I didn't go to this!!

I decided to try the BOAF show in NH and it was a total DUD!
Only SEVEN Gouldians entered total and FOUR of them were mine!!

Bah!
I knew I should have stuck to what I was familiar with.
There also were barely any birds there for sale.. only two people with Gouldians and none were banded.. asking $80 each for normals..
Sorry, but I don't pay $80 for unbanded Gouldians!
Blah!
So jealous - I am glad you got to attend and had a good time, though.
