I read somewhere that someone always offers seed on their hand when they go in their aviary, so today when I got home from a pretty busy day I thought what the heck - I'll give it a go!

Well, what do you know - my 3 baby zebs all came and sat on my hand - all 3 of them at once at one time! I was so pleased and wanted to let you all know :D

Makes my babies so special :D My daughter took some pics which I promise I will post :D

That's nice readingfc! There is nothing quite like the feeling of those little light feet on your hand! :o

Thats so cool! I've been trying to get mine to do that. So far....no go.
They'll land on a plate that I hold, but if my hand is at all showing.....forget it!

I'll have to try that with my babies when they start eating on their own.

Yes it's true - they just feel so light :D Today, I had all 3 on my hand again and 2 other finches kept landing nearby and taking a look at what was going on. One of the babies really snuggled down onto my hand at one point :D

Yes, try them Redtom - maybe it is because they are babies and don't know any different - its only the Zeb's that sit on my hand at the moment - the society babies (all 5 of them!) are staying well clear!

My adult society seem to be alittle more jumpier then my zeb's. not sure if the zebras are just been around people more or what.

yeah, my Zeb's are a lot different to my societies - the Zeb's are always the ones to come nearest to the wire when I watch them from outside the aviary.
I've posted some pics in the gallery of the babies on my hand :D Good luck with "taming" your babies :D

That's funny! My zebras and societies are just the opposite. My societies aren't as scared of me, but my zebras are very skiddish!
