On Father's Day, I'll be at the
Oak Creek bird fair selling my gouldian chicks.
I'm also selling the parents -- I don't have time to get into gouldian breeding right now, a proven pair should go to someone who plans to breed.

So you are selling that pair that had their chicks in the potted plant ?!?
Somebody will be getting a great pair for sure.

Yes, I hate the thought of giving them up . . . but my life is just too complicated right now and I have no time and space for breeding.
That pair definitely should belong to someone who wants to breed gouldians!
Oh darn it, I just started crying at the thought of giving them up . . .

why don't you just keep them as pets if you're so attached to them?

Unfortunately I need to scale back on my hobbies. My life is too complicated at the moment.
Among other things, I have a basement full of foster animals (rabbits and chinchilla) that belong to a friend who has cancer. While she is having chemotherapy, she cannot have pets so I am keeping them for her. (Fortunately the chemo is doing what it's supposed to.)
So anyway I am doing everything I can to simplify my life, and that includes cutting back on finches.

oh dear that's too bad

Hopefully you can find them a good home. Maybe one of the people on the forum here can take them for you.

Sorry about your friend. It's unfortunate you have to give up your pets in order to care for hers. I would be happy to help out if only I lived closer to ya.

I would definetly buy them. If only you were closer to KC.

I sold 2 girls. That's enough so that all my remaining finches can fit into one large aviary/flight cage. So that helps.

That's terrific news!
