Ordering Gouldians On-Line

Post by ppg5tu » Sat Nov 23, 2013 11:24 pm

I am having a really hard time finding a split to blue YB male or anything split to blue male here in Central Virginia. I am contemplating ordering some gouldians on-line but I have never done it and am hesitant since they are so sensitive to everything. Has anyone ever done this, I'm sure someone has, and how do you pick who you order through? Also, there seem to be tons of people in Florida who breed lots of gouldians and have cheap prices, are these brokers with poor quality birds that should be avoided? Thanks
Phil

You ever been to pet supples plus? I'm not sure where you are in Va but I went to a new location in Midlothian,Va. The manager said someone bought ALL of her new shipment of gouldians but she was eager to order anything I wanted if available from her supplier. Perhaps you call them to see if she can special order split blue. I believe there is another location in Charlotteville. Where are you? I'm finding out that central va is a little skimpy on finches....

I purchased a few Gouldians from Nixity aka Tiffany on this forum. They were shipped in a shipping container that was solid and kept drafts out. (I still use it anytime I go to the bird mart just in case I see anything I want to buy!) The birds were very healthy, exactly what she said they were and the transaction was very pleasant.
Personally, I think it's best to buy from someone you know and respect, than a pet store or distributor who may or may not know what they are split for. I would highly recommend Tiffany.
