Gouldians in NC?

Post by Ash » Sat Sep 14, 2013 11:28 pm

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for a Gouldian or two here in NC. Ideally I'd like to find a blueback male or a couple of blueback or yellowback hens. :) Not sure of my chances of success with those colors, but I thought I'd ask the experts here! Most of the birds I've seen on my local Craigslist and Hoobly are the normal greenbacks, and there's nothing wrong with them at all, but I've always dreamed of the blues.

I can drive a few hours (2-3) in any direction of central NC.

Thanks so much,
Ash

Can also head up into VA or down into SC for the right finch. :)

Best,
Ash

Hey Ash I am here in Carolina Beach and have had no success in finding breeders in NC. My dream would be to have a pair of gouldians. Wishing us both luck. Sure will let you know if I find any.

I have some chicks that are almost all colored up if you're interested in driving to Virginia Beach. I do have ONE Blue LG left. The rest are probably split to Blue or Yellow. I have two different folks coming this week, one is taking at least 4, maybe 6. I don't know about the other fella. I can let you know if you like. I had 12 in all, but 2 of them havent started coloring up yet, so I don't know what they'll be. Since I have a free flight aviary, it could be any color. Hopefully they're blues, too.

Hi Judy,

Thanks so much for the offer, but I actually found some finches last weekend and no longer need to make a long drive for any! Maybe next time, though. :) It's good to know there are breeders within a reasonable distance.

Best,
Ash

Hi Judy,

I live in Va Bch too. I saw in a post from last year that you had split blue gouldians. Do you still have any for sale or trade? If so, what are their ages/colors?

I also have OH/PB/GB males and females (born 2012 and 2013) for sale or trade, if you are interested.

I have been looking for some for a while, too. I posted on craigslist and even the big Gouldian breeder around here is looking for some. Crazy! :(
