Is anyone going to Sarasota show

Post by ozzy » Thu Jul 17, 2014 6:31 pm

Hi, Is there anyone going to the Sarasota show this weekend? I am looking for some cages in good shape. I will also be looking for some affordable birds. I am really open to what species I am looking for.
Thanks

We just got back from the Sarasota bird show.
We purchased 6 Gouldians and a pair of Society.
The are all banded.

Yes congratulations! I bet you got a great deal!

So I went earlier today and I have to say I was a little disappointed. There weren't as many varieties for sale as I thought there would be. I was looking for tanagers and other softbills but I didn't see any. Oh well, hope everyone had fun! Ironically my local bird shop had a bigger variety.

The Sarasota show is not typically big and I more of a hookbill and supply, wth few finches....vendors are usually the same ones. I was a vendor at Sarasota show but stopped and will do the Orlando and Ammerman show, possibly the Largo show.

For softbills you are likely to find them at the Orlando show and the Ammerman show.

The vendors at the Sarasota show are usually the same ones at the Largo show.

Pics will be up in the morning. I never realized how tough it can be getting a good pic of a finch.
I agree this bird show didn't have near as many different species as the previous shows.

Good to know, do you mean the one show that's coming up in August? I believe it's the 10th. Have you ever seen tanagers there before? I remember I saw sure birds once in green cove springs.
