I d like to trade my green back purple brested gouldian

Post by Mrs.V-Perez » Fri Sep 26, 2014 8:53 am

I'm in the El Paso area. But besides looking for a traders I have a question . I reallly would like a blue male or female. To trade my normal green back does it mean I have to also give money to be a fair trade? Or is it birdie for birdie no matter species or color? I do know the pastel gouldians are typically more expensive , but I'm not planning on trying to make profit off my birdies . I'm just trying introduce new genetics to my little flock. Thanks everyone for your replies!

Thank you for your response! What would be a fair deal ? I'm pretty new to the whole trade thing.I want to be a smart buyer, and not be caught taken advantage of because I'm new to trading. But I don't want people to think I'm unreasonable either. Thanks for responses

i paid $250 for each blue back I bought from Washington, plus airfare. and that's because there are very, very few blue backs where I live.

I think it all depends on where you are located. Here in Virginia/DC/Maryland area I think $100 for a Blue bird is pretty reasonable. There are some near me who are asking more and some even less. When I have done trades or sell my birds generally normal GB without being split to BB are $50 so I would think the Green bird and $50 would be fine, but that is for my area.

Wow 250 plus air fair! That's a lot , I haven't seen blues at all in my area when I use to live in San Antonio area I saw them go for 150-200 a pair . I think that's reasonable 50 and blkface/grnback/purple breasted . Now here is my next question do males or hens worth more? And since u can't visually see if it's split blue how do u know ur not being lied to?

No way of knowing if they are split other than trusting the person or breeding them to a blue bird and seeing if you get any blue offspring.

As far as which one is worth more, I think they should be the same price, I don't know of anyone who asks for more based on gender

Hello! I used to lived in highland Indiana!Lol but back to the post , I honestly thought it was gunna be life for a life, bird for bird , but I do understand blues are a unique kind of gouldian and ,so are silvers. So I kinda thought I might have to still pay something even though it's same species of bird, just different colors.
