Wanted: Strawberries, espec hens, Calgary Alberta
Hi Everybody, I know several members in Alberta have Strawberries. Wondering if you have any, or know of any for sale? The wife of a new finch friend (long time breeder) will be out there this weekend. The husband has three males and only one hen, as do I. We also have a mutual acquaintance looking for some strawberries - these birds will have a HUGE aviary with its own stream! Ponytail Joe has no more and as you can tell, he had more cocks then hens. I have a year old, strongly bonded pair (Dutch lines) who are currently in breeding mode (I just tossed four eggs because didn't want another clutch at present) Also three fully fledged young (as yet unsexed). If you or your friends are interested, let me know. I would prefer all five to go together if possible.
I am in the process of downsizing. Prices will be the going rate or lower (make me a reasonable offer). I am not looking to make a great profit, just to find these kids a really good home (which is what you are describing). I would be able to meet your friend at Deerfoot Mall (off Deerfoot Trail and 64th Ave NE ), this Saturday the 30th of May.

If you are looking for Strawberries, Pete Van Erp in Ontario has some. He is a member of an Ontario bird club.
I did PM Elana. We spoke about her birds. I suggested she should try not to make any big decisions/changes right now as her thoughts are likely all over the place. If she does downsize, I also suggested she might want to keep the birds that are harder to come by. She is not in any hurry.
A friend of mine also thinks his hen is looking for a nest. If he does get chicks and needs a buyer, I will let you know.
