Brian, I appreciate any prayers during this time, while I try to get my health and home in order, so I can really recover. I really want homes for these babies of mine that are finch loving homes! I wish you, Ginene and many of out other FF members could take them. At least, I have a home for some owls. Now, I just have to find good homes for the Peales, Parrot Finches, GS and Forbes! [-o< [-o<

I have sold my Forbes pair and Forbes cock to a breeder in California. They ship out the end of this month. I sold my gouldian pair to a local breeder. So far, those sold went to good homes. Yeah! Now, for the rest....

Discounted Prices Below:

Peales, 2 pairs $400 each or $350 for each pair, if you are buying both pairs.

RT,SG PF-PROVEN PAIR, $375

SGPF pied pair $375.

OR: If you buy 2 PF pairs, $350 each.

SG pied hens (2) for $200 each.

If buy both SG hens, $375 for the 2 SG pied hens together.

Note: the SG pied are not showing much pied yet. They usually get more pied with each molt.

Finally,
If anyone purchases the Peales pairs, I will give you the choice of any combination of the following: one Owl hen, pne GS cock, or one Society fawn self cock, or one crest fawn pied hen, or one chocolate pied hen, or a marked white pied cock.
That would be a free finch with each pair purchased!!

If someone purchases the Peales pairs and other PFs too, I'll give you a better deal. THANKS!

Hi Deborah! You have some gorgeous birds : ) Do you have any Owl finches left? I have a pair at home, but I think they're the same sex. I would like at least one female if possible, but would prefer a male and female. I'm also interested in purchasing a double flight cage if you have any more available.

finchmix22 Very sorry to hear about your bad health. Will pray for you. You are letting your birds go, but I hope you are not leaving the forum Deborah?

This is a very silly question, what exactly does Americans mean when they say College? Is it the same as an University, or is like a Senior High School.

Here the kids, after completing High School, have the following choices for further studies. If they want to study a trade, they go to College. If they want a Diploma, they go or to a Technikon. If they want to study for a doctor / lawyer / engineer / accountant etc, they have go to an University, where they would get a degree after the successful completion.

MariusStegmann college is a choice that children have after they graduate high school. Whether they want to continue their studies, or they can stop. There are many universities around the country that the people have choices of

MariusStegmann In the U.S., the terms are used fairly interchangeably. After graduating from high school (12th grade), students may attend a college/university with the goal of obtaining a bachelor's degree in various fields, normally a four-year education. After college/university, a student may go on to get an advanced degree such as a master's and then a doctorate, or they may decide to go on to law or medical school.

If, after graduating from high school, a student doesn't want to go to college/university, they may go to a trade school. Many cities offer community college, which is a 2-year course of education, which can be preparation to go on to attend a college/university for two more years. Many community colleges act as a trade school, where students can learn to be a mechanic, beautician, etc.

Deborah, I think once your other birds have found new homes, you should get one Canary boy. He would sing for you, keep you company while you have your morning coffee, cheer up your days, and would be very little work ( :-) ? )

Thx, Sally, I thought it was used interchangeably. In South Africa it is never done.

I second this idea, if it would be possible for you. You would have the company, the song, the relaxation that comes from listening to a canary singing, with very little work.

Sorry to hear that you are getting out of the hobby and to hear of the health issues, Deborah. Speedy recovery to you and best wishes to finding happy homes for all of your loved birds. I'm drooling over the RT/SG pair and wish I could know if they would live happily in my flight, but I'm afraid of unrest. I would drive over right this instance to get them. :)

Marius,

Heya! Just to simplify it for you.

The word college falls into likely 3 categories (all of these are after high school)

1. A small community school offering 2 year associate degrees in various areas

2. A school that has a specialty within a big University. Example: A University may have multiple colleges WITHIN the umbrella of the University, each with its own specialty. Like Florida Atlantic University- College of Business, College of Social Work, College of Nursing, etc.

3. A smaller independant school with only ONE area of specialty that can range from a trade to a even doctorate. Like Logan College of Chiropractic, Eastern Medical School (called a school but considered a college for Doctors)

It really just comes down to the size of the student population within that school. And whether the smaller independant colleges can survive without being gobbled up by the bigger Universities sadly.

Deborah

I haven't met you but I see you've had finches for a long time. Whatever troubles you enough that you have to part with your little ones, I hope for you peace, wellness and happiness in every facet of your life.

Im with the others that you should keep a canary. Their song is truly Nature's happiness.

Best wishes to you.

Thanks everyone for your interest in the finches! I decided to wait to see what I sell at the bird mart in October. After the mart, I'll sell the remaining finches at a discount. I still have owls and Green singers, Society's and the PFs. Plus, the gouldian juvies. We'll see how the sales go over the next month. [-o<
