WANT gouldians, cordon bleus, parrot finches in EDM AB

Hello All,

It has been a while and I hung up my breeders cap for a while. But I want to get back into the game, I miss the rush of finding eggs and then chicks in the nest. I miss the challenge of getting birds to breed and the satisfaction with breeding quality birds.

I live in Edmonton Alberta Canada, I am looking to purchase a pair of gouldians, BCCBs or a pair of red faced pied or even forbes parrot finches. I was hoping for someone local, but nothing is showing up. I am interested in shipping if someone can ship me over a pair. I have a ton of experience with gouldians in the past as well as societies. So your bird is going to a good home. I provide an extensive assortment of soft, fresh, and hard foods, as well as a spacious flight cage.

Please let me know what you have and if we can work something out!

I know jean,very very nice lady and excellent quality birds. I purchased my pair of gouldians from her 5 years ago. I sent her an email about a week ago and she still has not responded to me. I am not sure if she got it or not. Is there any alternate way you could contact her for me?

If I were you, I would send her another email.
It's unusual for her not to respond.

If you get nothing, then try 'The Northern Alberta Cage Bird Club'. They should be able to put you in touch with some other breeders.

I sent her another email. She replied and appologized for a late response! But I am glad that she replied! Unfortunately she only has females, but will have a black headed WB male at the end of this month. I really want a red headed WB or PB male. Though I may "settle" because her birds are simply stunning and oozing quality!

Absolutely! Her birds are quality bred with excellent care. The feathers are always glossy and the colors deep. Her birds are healthy and vibrant. People thought my gouldians were fake!

I unfortunately had 3 or 4 dud clutches from the pair and I tried EVERYTHING! Couldn't figure out what was wrong so ultimately sold them for that reason AND because life got extremely busy. But I am hoping to get back into it again. I am wondering if I could get my hands on a normal male from somewhere else and a nornal female from jean.

She also has young forbes parrot finches available. However they are only 4 months old, I wonder if they would be ok to breed by 6-9 months. I however do not want to push the poor little guys too hard and I am hoping to breed within the next couple months so I think I should look at something else for now.

Although the minute I see her Gouldians, everything else pales beside them, sigh.....

Last Summer, I saw this young lady.... and that was that (I can't even recall if Jean had any other species) .

Shes a beauty! Looking beautiful! I totally hear you, when I walk up to her bird stand at the NACBS show....I see nothing! I see gouldians and nothing else! Seeing as how they are only 4 months old, you should have no issues at all. Though I might grab a pair at 6 months old! Crossing my fingers that they will be available then.
