I don't know about the others but I paid $50.00 each for my Gouldians from a breeder that was getting out of breeding. This was after searching for 8-12 months. Most breeders that I came across were $100.00 per bird and they wanted you to take two. Petsmart had them for $100.00 as well. I think I remember the Zebras being $35.00 and Owls $45.00 each but I am not certain.

Owls at a show...between $80 to $85 a bird. I have yet to see owls here in this area of Florida for $45 lately. About 7 yrs ago at a show we saw a very well know lady that bred owls in this area for $40 each but right now they go for a little less than double here.

I sell shaft tails for between $25 and $35 each
BC zebras $15 each
BC CCFW zeberas for $15-$20 each
Fawns and normals $5-7 each
*Crested ?
*Penguins ?
FF, Isabel, FS zebras $10 each
Owls $80 each

* the colony is just getting started...have not advertised these yet.

Don't quote me on pricing I was just browsing and am not certain. Gouldian pricing i am certain of but that's what I was looking for.

I'm not sure if it's too late for this thread. Here's what I paid for my birds in Southern California.

From bird mart in June 2011.
-Star finch: $60 pair (m/f) , they're building nest now
-Owl: $100 pair (m/f), they're building nest now
-Pin tail Whydah: $80 pair
-Orange weaver: $35 I only got a male
-Lavender: $60 pair
-Goldfinch: $80 pair (m/f)
-2 society for $15
-Red factor canary: $70 each
-Orange head Gouldian $100 pair

From various private breeders/owners (June 2011):
- Male Red head Gouldian $45
- Yellow canaries: $80 pair
- Orange canaries: $100 pair
- Black head female Gouldian $65, $55 male
- Cordon Blue $60 bonded pair
- Spanish Timbado canary: $60 for a pair

I think the prices I paid is reasonable compare to other paid in other areas.

Those are fabulous prices! I paid almost double for the same birds here in Texas! I guess each area has different availability etc and that creates the price difference. Good Ol' Supply and Demand. LOL.

Over here I got my pair of goulds for 80 pounds, one is a blue back, and the other is white breast but to be honest I don't think the guy knew. Not that I am unhappy with them.

(And I can't remember if I posted here before, as there is no dot but then it is a sticky so maybe the dot doesn't appear on stickies )

I am so surprised the prices seem so much cheaper on the east coast! Here, the prices are higher for all types. I paid $90, I think, for my GS, $40 for my OCW, $100 for my rccb, $160 for Owl pair, $45 Star YF, $140 Lavender pair, $80 Gold Breast Pair, $25 for Spice, $20 for Society

The Baltimore Bird Mart had juvenile gouldians for $20, adults $40. Owls were all $40. Also just got 3 more gouldians on craigslist for $20 each. Can't wait for the Bird Mart in a couple weeks!

That's true i see that in most pet store around buffalo ny to high price and is sad when they dont even know anything about the birds. That's why going to a breeder i think is the way to go, they know there birds. Plus Buffalo has a lots of good breeder in the area .

Birdclaws- you have got to be kidding me! Those prices are amazingly inexpensive! I am so jealous. But good for you! If finches were that cheap I'd have a house full!
