Peruvian Ground Doves - No Longer Available

Trying to downsize some of the birds and these guys would love some more space.

Willing to rehome for free to anyone in the area who has a large aviary or big cage they could have to themselves.

They are not tame and will not let you handle them. They are quite entertaining and croak like frogs. They have done just fine on the same seed I feed my finches, but I occasionally add hemp seeds to the mix as treats.

I rescued them from an evil pet store two years ago.

Here's a video of the male croaking:

Please let me know if you have any questions!

I gave up on trying to breed them a long time ago when I realized no one around here was interested in them. They do seem quite determined to breed. Actually, the male is chasing the hen around croaking as I type...

They look great. I wonder why they aren't popular. Hope the find a good home soon.

I agree with Charlie...beautiful birds! Amazing of you to rescue them =D> . My family would LOVE them, but they wouldn't have lots of great space here. Best of luck rehoming them.

I'll edit your title to reflect that the birds are gone, Brian. Glad you found a good home for them.

Birds were re-homed yesterday. Went to a guy who had a 6 foot walk in aviary with fig trees inside. They will love it. The other plus is that he has had them in the past and still has some other exotic doves.
