My fat and sassy Black-Bellied Fire finch died suddenly and unexpectedly last week. I fear he broke his neck when I was covering them with a big sheet. It always causes a big commotion, and I have worried about just that happening. (I have stopped covering them - they are doing fine!).
One of my favorite birds, he is really missed by his mate, and us humans.
I will be driving from NE Florida, up I-95, to Salisbury Maryland in the near future.
Anyone along, or, near that route that has any available?
Thanks so much,
Lauren

There is a bird broker in Pasadena MD named Murad. He used to have a website, but it is no longer active. Perhaps birdclaws or nixity would have his contact info.

Re: Looking for male Black-Bellied Fire Finch - FOUND ONE!
My good friend Liz, who lives only a few miles from me, has a lone BBFF male. I *knew* she had Fire finches - but totally blanked on her lone male.
And, she needed some of what I have *extras* of.
Happy-Happy-Happy! For us both!
Doing the exchange tomorrow.
Thanks all for your PM's and help.
