Breeders in the East Texas/DFW area
I am located in Commerce, Tx so I'm not too far from the metro-plex area or the area of East Texas (Tyler) where I was born and visit every two weeks to maintain clients' fish tanks. I'd like to get acquainted with any breeders in the area. It would be nice to have close resources to exchange bloodlines or mutations with as I get more involved in breeding finches.
I am also very interested in obtaining pairs of Gold-breasted Waxbills, Orange-cheeked Waxbills, and Black and White Manikins in the near future. A local pet shop can order several breeds for me from Quality Pets for wholesale pricing but some species aren't available and others non-sexable. Does anyone in the area breed any of these species?

I don't know anyone in this area who is breeding Orange-cheeked waxbills or Black and White mannikins. I have Goldbreasts, but not breeding any just now. Member Neversink7 has quite a selection of birds, as does Helen Hoffman. They are both in the Plano/Frisco area. I'll PM you their emails/websites tomorrow.

Thank you Sally. I was hoping you might respond. ;) I'll look for the pm tomorrow. I think the Goldbreasts are simply gorgeous. Are yours just not breeding or are you not breeding them right now?

I just discovered today that one of our pairs of goldbreasts has babies in the nest. They are in an outside aviary and they are our first goldbreast babies, but if all goes well and you are still looking for goldbreasts when they fledge we live in Arlington. They were quite unexpected babies!

That's wonderful news on the Goldbreast babies. Feel free to contact me when they are old enough to find a home. I just think they are gorgeous.
And owls are so cute. I've never even seen one in person.
