I am looking for a Red Cheek Cordon Bleu female as my female died a few days ago. My male is calling for her and it is sad. If anyone has a female RC Cordon Bleu that they are thinking of selling, please let me know.

There are now actually three topics about this same subject, so I'm going to combine them all into one thread. And it is always better to deal with someone you feel comfortable with rather than a total stranger. Though most of us on this forum have never met each other, there is a degree of comfort knowing that we are dealing with other people who also care about what happens with their birds.

Do you know that there is a bird fair coming to Sarasota on Feb. 23rd? You might try there. It's close for you and it's worth a shot. Bob

If you don't mind ordering from somewhere not local and etc...I know that the website bird product has rccb for $55 each. I haven't ever bought any birds from them before, but was shopping around for birds and stumbled onto their site. They also have bccb for $60 each. The only catch about buying from them is that they want a $250 minimum order plus shipping. Just thought I share the info. Good luck on finding a mate. I do think at some point I will probably order from this site though.

Thank you Bob, I will wait for the Bird Fair. I went to one a few years ago and took my mom, at the Robarts Arena, (I think that is what it is called), but mom got sick and I had to leave. They had everything you could imagine there. I will wait. Thanks so much. Kathie

Dana, thank you so much for this information. I am not comfortable with buying from a Website. I'm old (62) and old fashion, and I need to be able to trust the people selling me the bird. It was such an emotional loss when I lost the hen that I need for this to go well. She was such an inspiration to me. She had squinty eyes and could hardly see. The vet said she was healthy when I bought her at PetSmart, and she was. She lived for 4 years. She would jump against the bars in the morning and slide down to go eat. At night, she would fly to perches that I set close to each other so she could make it to the top and sleep next to her mate. She lived every day to the fullest despite her handicap. As a former hospice nurse, I really loved that in her. Anyway. Thank you. Kathie

Thank you Bob. I plan on going. I will be looking for my rc cb hen and also for cages that have an acrylic front so you can see them without bars.

If you don't find one at the bird fair I have one available. I'm in Savannah, GA but I could find a way to get it to you..
