I'm looking for a male Java finch. My current hen is very lonely and stores in my region get this species in only very rarely (and thus expensively too) so I need to get her a friend. A hen would be considered too.

Can't fathom a java being expensive. Too bad you didn't live closer to me. Good luck in your search. Bob

Wow, that is a lot! Whites and normals generally go for 15 to 25.00. (the uncommon ones a bit higher) When I had to quickly free up one of my cages last year, I sold three white babies to an upscale pet store for 20.00 (for all three). Bob

Java may get harder to find in some states compared to others. There is a law that states they are not to be transported/shipped out of the states they are currently in.

I suggest contacting an national organization like NFSS to see who breeds in your state. Also try local bird clubs.

I wonder how they do that when it's illegal to cross state lines, not to mention Java's are banned in a few states. :?
