I'm very sorry if I'm breaking rules to the forum (this being my first post) but I desperately need a MALE ORANGE WEAVER FINCH in color.

My sister left for vacation and asked me to bird sit her foster daughters Finch. I put the bird cage on top of my fridge thinking it would be safe from my two cats but was mistaken. The cats knocked it off and ate the finch!!!!! Im a wreck!!! I need to replace this bird before the 22nd.

Please someone help!!!

I dont know if I can include my contact information or not, but I am desperate to find a replacement.

I live in St Clair Shores, Michigan which is outside of Detroit.

Glad you found one. Now place the cage in a closed room away from the cats. Cats will find a way to get to a cage placed out of reach, so a closed door in between is the safest. Now that their hunting instinct has been aroused, they will be wanting the new bird even more.

This reminds me of the TV commercial of a Dad racing to the pet store to get a replacement goldfish before his daughter gets home.

Also tie or wire the cage doors shut. That way, if the cats do somehow get to the cage again, or it gets knocked over, the doors do not come open and the bird stands a chance until you get there and rescue it.
